Daniel advises individual and corporate clients in the areas of business and corporate law, real estate development, transactions, and leasing, technology and venture capital, and other transactional matters. He leverages his prior experience working as in-house counsel to the largest privately held shopping mall developer in the Northeast to deliver business-focused, practical and effective solutions.
Since joining the firm, Daniel has played an active role in the emerging field of name, image, and likeness (NIL) in college athletics as a natural spinoff of his regular content creators and influencers practice. He has been a NIL panelist at the Temple Sports Business Conference and Syracuse Law’s Entertainment and Sports Law Society Symposium, as well as providing guest lectures at Syracuse University’s College of Law, David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, and Martin J. Whitman School of Management, State University of New York College at Cortland, and Cazenovia College. Daniel has also been quoted in NIL publications and has discussed current legal issues in the NIL landscape on sports law podcasts. In combination with his background as a former Coordinator of Hockey Operations for an NCAA Division I ice hockey program, Daniel is uniquely situated to assist any current or prospective college athlete, as well as any high school athlete in New York, navigate this unchartered and rapidly changing territory.
Prior to joining the firm, Daniel worked on multi-million dollar real estate finance and development transactions, commercial leases, due diligence, and various other corporate and transactional activities to support company business. In addition, Daniel has a varied litigation background that he draws upon to counsel clients on how to plan for, evaluate, and act upon litigation risk.
Outside of his legal practice, Daniel enjoys playing ice hockey and is an adjunct professor at SUNY Cortland where he teaches sport law. Daniel is originally from Yorktown Heights, New York, and has resided in the Syracuse area since 2013. He lives with his wife, Georgia, in Manlius, New York.
